Founded in 2001, the Beijing Queer Film Festival (aka Love Queer Cinema Week) is the oldest grassroots film festival in China focusing on independent queer film screenings and cultural exchange activities. We aim to expand public discussions on sexuality / gender identity / gender expression, we give a platform to sexual and other minorities, and we celebrate diversity. With the help of many civil society groups and activists, we annually present a cutting-edge selection of Chinese and foreign queer films, and offer a rare place of reflection and exchange about queer imagery and activism.
